For as long as we can remember, people have been trying to describe the majesty and beauty of this region of Italy. Some have gone so far as to call it “The Tibet of Italy”.
We call this place “home” and we hope you choose to visit us during your travels and enjoy our hospitality while you explore this magnificent landscape and all that Abruzzo has to offer.
We are situated in the Majella National park, Abruzzo, at an altitude of 700m and approximately 3km from Roccamorice – an ancient stone village built atop a rocky crest, and protected on all sides by the breathtaking canyon.
The Agriturismo takes its name from a dry wall stone hut found within its grounds. The ancient structure “a tholos”, once a pastoral shelter, is used today for various farm and teaching activities, and also, upon request, as a very original dining area. All of the green spaces that encircle the farm, the swings, table tennis area and small library are available for our guests to enjoy.
Here, immersed in nature, surrounded by woods, you can discover on the horizons around them the Majella, Morrone and Gran Sasso mountains. As you walk through the unspoiled meadows, they can breathe in the scent of wild spices. The evenings bring with them a particular delight for anyone who loves to observe the constellations and planets with the naked eye.
Our Agriturismo is ideal for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature, and is a perfect base for trekking, walking, skiing, going on guided or free excursions or visiting any of the many natural reserves or spas nearby. For anyone with a passion for free climbing there is the “parete dell”orso”(the “bear” mountain wall). Local areas of historical significance include the Celestinian hermitages of S.Spirito and S.Bartolomeo, and the sea and beaches are less than an hour away. Guided visits can be arranged upon request..
